Company profile

1995

We set up Aviators Network, to give UK pilots a taste of the on-line features then available in the US. We offered free on-line weather to private pilots, written by Tom Dawes-Gamble. We were one of the first internet service providers, and had the distinction of writing the first dial-up software on a disk, that we sent to our customers.

1999

Flyer magazine asked us to setup own branded internet services, from dial-ups to mail, forums, and broadband, which we do to this day.

2000

Again, we were one of the first providers of BT's Broadband. BT installed a central pipe in our Data Centre, in Harbour Exchange, Docklands.

2001

Severn Trent Water - this Utility was expanding into Telecoms, and asked us to offer dial-up, web and mail, and later Broadband to their millions of customers.

2001

Checkmyfile.com, the first on-line company to offer simple credit searches for consumers, hosted their servers with us. Our role as architect and consultant was invaluable in guiding them in the most cost effective way of getting started.

2002

New disaster recovery data centre comes on stream.

2005

We grew out of our current space in Harbour Exchange, set up a new datacenter in the Docklands, within sight of the Dome. Backbone connectivity is now provided by Pipex, Thus and Datahop, so that we are multihomed. Disaster recovery is guaranteed with two physical and network locations.

2006

Approached by Garlik, for hardware, hosting, architecture, database admin, and applications.

2007

Deployed in house search engine, along Google lines to enable our customers to incorporate web-scale searches into their own applications.

2007

Growing out of our office in Watford, we moved to Kings Langley, which has the advantage of access both from the M25, M1 and M10, and Rail.

2008

Rolled out the infrastructure to support of Garlik's Qdos platform, the worlds first semantically people database.

Houxou has deployed a brand new secure infrastructure, to support the growing demand for VPN and leased line connectivity, as our customer's continue to outgrow Broadband service levels.
